The underlying principle of the automatic tube cleaning (ATC) system is the development and application of water treatment technology that is in keeping with a policy that we all endorse:

Environmentally friendly and energy-saving production or cooling
This is often accompanied by investments that provide insufficient returns. The advantage of the ATC-system is that it provides a substantial return on investment by way of ENVIRONMENTAL SAVINGS, ENERGY SAVINGS, INCREASED CAPACITY and MAINTENANCE FRIENDLINESS.

Environmental savings
Application of the ATC-system means that the dosage of chemicals necessary for water treatment can usually be considerably reduced, particularly in new plants.

Energy savings
It can be shown that energy savings of between 10 to 15% are possible after application of the ATC-system. For an average production unit, this means that the investment costs can be very quickly recovered.

Increased capacity
Application of the ATC-system means that there is no more fouling of the tube bundles. Consequently, the capacity for heat interchange will be considerably increased. In locations with high ambient temperatures, it will sometimes be possile to completely offset capacity restrictions.

Maintenance friendliness
Through the application of the ATC-system, periodic high pressure cleaning and, in some case, chemical cleaning belong to the past. All that remains to be done is to periodically check the system and, once every four to six years, to replace the cleaning brushes.

Should you decide not to choose an ATC-System, you will run the risk of buying oversized heat exchangers to compensate for the expected extent of fouling, resulting in the waste of large quantities of cooling water.

Solutions such as chemical water treatment, high pressure cleaning and chemical cleaning will not prevent corrosion of the expensive tube bundles. Much has been invested in these methods, though without the desired result, namely that of continuously clean tube bundles.

All these important advantages clearly show that the only correct investment is an investment in the ATC-system.
